I saw the video. I like Walter Williams. I am an ancap. I don't like this video. It's preaching to the choir. It won't win new converts. In fact it pushes me a tiny bit away from being an ancap. Don't get me wrong I'll always be an ancap but things like this make me adopt more conservative, traditionalist and community centered views. Choice is always paramount and we should not ever lose that. Though i hope people make choices not only based on greed. Perhaps Texas farmers shouldn't have been feeding people in NY...

Thanks for the feedback, and yeah I could see how this approach might be repulsive.

But if someone is totally convict the evil of free trade maybe this has some potential to shock them into thinking differently?

It just shows our worldviews are so completely different. Right wing people who believe in markets but think it must be for the good are harking to ideas predating Adam Smith. So on no angle do right wing ideals of any ideology appeal to the left. I learned a bit about this in "a little history of economics" by Niell Kishtany I do enjoy what the principle is trying to convey in a sense though. Like it conforms to the whole idea that non racist business people will do better in business or racists have to ignore their racism for money and that kinda thing.

What made you want to start posting quotes on Patriots win? Can you add Ron Paul and Peter Schiff? What about Tom Woods? Can we get a bit more variety? Try Peter Schiffs roach motel analogy or something.

Idk, just felt like elevating the discourse.

I do have some Ron Paul quotes in my collection and one or two Woods quotes. No Schiff quotes though.

Any specific ones you’d like to share?

Irwin Schiff is a great example of the violence inherent in taxation.

No matter how many times Schiff repeats repeats the same analogies i have never written them down. QE is like a roach motel. The roaches go in but cannot leave just like our monetary policy or something like that.

Tom Woods has some good ones about the 3x5 card if allowable opinion. "all the opinions you're allowed to hold from both sides fit on a 3x5 card" or something like that.

Ah yeah, I know the 3x5 reference is in his show intro, maybe I can track down a good explanation of that. Thanks for the suggestions.

I’ll hunt down some Schiff quotes as well.
