Specifically, I'm looking at when hurricane katrina hit new orleans. No one wanted gold, everyone traded food and ammo.

If we get into a situation where our fiat and money is valueless (which is pretty likely) than we are also in a situation where people need food and medical supplies. Gold and silver are good for what? Jewellery? Gold and silver both went DOWN in value over the past year which is absolute madness that ANYTHING was outperformed by the US dollar. That is pathetic lol

Ideally, crypto will be the future currency. But that's assuming we will have the infrastructure for it.

If you look at real shtf scenarios people do not use gold as currency. It's always ammo or food or medical supplies. Primarily ammo.

I don't own guns yet still think it's wise to buy ammo.

inb4 shill accusations

although monero (XMR) is my favorite crypto, i', not a shill at all. I do run nodes and mine on my low-end computers but I don't even own one monero. My main crypto holdings are much more volatile because I'm a madlad. The point is to not have your savings in usd and to stop using fiat. Your savings are going to get reckt with our current inflation, not financial advice but maybe its a good idea to buy tangible (easily sell back later) assets. NOT gold/silver/"precious metals" but especially not USD, CAD, EUR etc
