The problem is that the world is far too "small" these days to truly be libertarian.
The more I thought about succession, the more I realized occupation would be the end result. We would be to America, what Taiwan is to China. Can't have decentralization when there is global communist power(s) threatening to enslave every nation....
The only way we'll seen another truly libertarian society is after whatever fallout occurs from either WW3 // socialist "utopia" // neo feudalism we're about to plunge into.
You could enter the ancap model running a minarchist government over it. But there will always be opposition and groups that will you want to defend against. So a military defense will always be necessary.
I'm just saying we're too late in the game for something like that.
Maybe after the next war or so but the geopolitical landscape will have to radically change for something like that to work.
Not only could they squeeze you out of the global economy, but with current military pressures you would be subjugated within a week.
Look at china's reaction to the US reaching out to Taiwan. The same thing would happen to whatever ancap nation you'd create.
I realise that the reason we aren't speaking some dialect of Chinese is because of our militaries and that is why I proposed a minarchist government. Also I would bet that even if we started afresh, people would immediately begin to form groups (countries) and fight eachother.
With the way how the model is now, the US would cripple itself if it was to be implemented because there is no structure - and I don't think that cooperatives of people would be as effective.
