I agree with that statement, and I may give an expansion to it.

Your freedom is stolen and replaced with "Safety". (essentially you can't do x, y, or z because it is thought that not doing them is best for you, and if you do it anyways, police will hunt you down because of that decision.)

Your income is stolen and replaced with "Welfare" (Your income is forcibly taken away for stuff you ain't seeing.)
