I agree so damn much. I’m an ancap and we need better public relations.

You should consider voting on propositions; you can help veto new regulations and laws.

Tyranny of the mob while we pick two very politically similar candidates? It seems to delude people into believing they are really in charge of the giant ever increasing parasite feeding on them, and it does keep out some dictators sometimes, but the only part that really always makes a difference is voting on propositions.

I always vote, but democracy is not perfect and it’s not even morally perfect. I live in a representative republic myself.

The only one? Many presidents and politicians enrich themselves in office.

I always vote libertarian hoping to get that 5%

I get the idea, but considering that participation is voluntary, and one can simply leave or make a new community if one despises mods, leaving it completely unmoderated isn’t necessary to make it ancap.
However, it doesn’t even have to be organized in an ancap format for it to be a great way to talk about anarcho capitalism. You can discuss chaos in a non chaotic environment.
Likewise, you could discuss peace in a very aggressive unpeaceful manner, or discuss communism on private property. Neither invalidates the shared ideas in those conversations.

Ah left libertarians; good point. And indeed it is, along with those border facilities. I don’t know if an open border would matter so much in an ancap country. Part of the appeal here is supposedly the safety net. Morally, I don’t see why you can’t have friends over on your property from another place.

This election as well as the last election people were complaining that it was faked. I thought it was interesting that the right got slammed for that this time and accused of being nuts. People’s memories are short.

I’ll still be voting libertarian regardless

America began as a frontier—of course even it was already inhabited, but it was hostile and full of deadly animals. Maybe that’s why we were so tough in the beginning, and why we as a people now bear so little resemblance to those freedom loving people now

So you’re arguing for another country to be the safety net? I can’t even decide what I think about that

I think that’s a stretch of the NAP too, but some people will use the NAP to justify criminalizing abortion, so I could see someone going in another direction with it here. I don’t think either really fully apply, unless you’re going to start sliding into minarchism, but it would be valid to create a community within an ancap society where vegetarianism or pro lifers lived and shared that way of life. I’ve talked to a lot of ancaps on reddit about that, actually. It seems divided half and half, depending on if you are religious. And so far, no vegetarians on that sub.

Yes . People love their damned security. ...and that’s if some neighboring government didn’t decide to try to expand its lands.

That doesn’t change the direction I prefer, though. Maybe there will one day be a way for people to have more power over their emotions via technology, and will not be so easily influenced by fear mongering.

It’s so sad that most of the people who are pro freedom today are necessarily anti science. It shouldn’t have to be fake to make one question the lockdowns

Why would they use the wall as an example? I mean, obviously an ancap society wouldn’t have border detention facilities or checkpoints, but morally speaking, keeping a closed border is rather ambiguous compared to the others, especially considering they could’ve used that time to mention Guantanamo bay or prisons filled with people who committed victimless crimes.

Why can’t it have moderators? Other than wanting to spam or delegitimize it with progressive fck those stupid evil rtard right libertarians garbage and turn it into r/libertarian, I can’t see a legit reason for wanting things like blatant fuck so-and-so group racism and spam here.

Rules are not taxes.

Why can’t we have a civilized forum of likeminded people and respectful outsiders discussing things?

I’m super new so I don’t know if you want me but I’m the same username on reddit. Time: pacific standard (USA) Rules: read ‘em Why I want to mod: I want to help make sure this doesn’t get overtaken with spam and trolls hating on libertarianism and freedom like r/libertarian(I mean literally hateful like “I hope you and your family die in a work camp”). I’d also just like to spend more time interacting with other right-libertarians
